Science, Engineering and Pharmacy Courses in Birla Institute of Technology

 
Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) is offering a splendid chance for the successfully plus two completed students of Science discipline to do different courses like Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Science, Bachelor of Pharmacy etc. The initial degree courses are conducted in BIT Bhilani, Hyderabad, Goa campuses.

B.E. courses can be done in the branches like – Chemical, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Mechanical, Civil, Manufacturing, Electronics and Communication etc. Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Science Programmes in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics and General Studies are also offered by the institute.

Students who are willing to apply for these courses should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects at the Plus two level and scored a total of 75%. Also there should be 60% of marks in each of these subjects in their board exam of the year 2017. Students appearing in the examination of the present academic year (2018) also can apply. To do a course in Pharmacy subject, Physics, Chemistry and Biology should be the subjects of study in Plus two course.

Selection will be based on BITS Admission Test. The duration of the test based on computer is 3 hours. 150 objective type multiple choice questions from 5 subjects in 4 sections would be there. The number of questions from Physics and Chemistry will be 40 and Maths and Biology will be 45. Also, the forth section would consist of 15 questions to assess the proficiency in English language and 10 questions to test logical reasoning. According to the discipline to be selected by the student, one must answer PCM or PCB questions in Science subjects.

Provided the student gets time even after answering 50 questions, not leaving any questions unanswered, he or she can get 4 questions from each section- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology. Thus 12 more questions can be demanded. Once the questions are accepted by the student, one can’t go back to 150 questions already answered. Each correct answer would carry 3 marks whereas one mark would be deducted for wrong answer.

The exam would be conducted between May 16th – 31st in different sections dailyThiruvananthapuram is the only exam centre in Kerala. While applying , the students can opt for their centre for exam. But the facility to select date and time of exam would be made available later.

The students can apply online before 13th March 2018, 5 p.m. through the web site – http://bitsadmission.com. If they choose any of the exam centres in India, the exam fee for boys will be Rs.2950/- and Rs.2450/- for girls. The applicants with their exam centre – Dubai, have to pay Rs.4500/- ( 70 U S dollars) towards exam fee. It can be paid through online or challan. The print out of the application need not be sent anywhere.

The facility to book online the date and time of exam would be available from March 23rd to April 5th. After BITS exam, a separate application should be given for admission from 1st May to 18th January. The students who get first rank in the Higher Secondary Board exam would get the privilege of getting admission to the course of their choice.
